Handling the Rain Handler: Cultural and Religious Perspectives on the Indonesia’s Pawang Hujan

This study aims to analyze the concept of pawang hujan (rain handler) phenomenon and its connection with culture beliefs people in Indonesia. Through data collection analysis from various sources within last 10 (ten) years consisting books, journals, other relevant supportive obtained through Google Scholar search engine, it is known that Indonesia still believe effectiveness rain handler’s job. Although many say handler deviates religious rules, several others maintain tradition preserving Indonesian local wisdom so these cultural characteristics do not disappear over time. The responses were widely varied as one’s views wisely belief supernatural things must be gradually eroded for people.
